We Planned the Future with Our Experienced Teachers!

On February 12, 2025, the ABE Türkiye project team and our experienced teachers came together for a Planning Meeting, which concluded with significant decisions set to open new horizons in biotechnology education.

During the meeting, the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year was reviewed, and a comprehensive roadmap was developed for teacher support programs, scientific projects, educational materials, and new teacher training. Efforts to enhance inclusivity and sustainability were shared with ABE teachers. In this context, applications for the TÜBİTAK 4004 projects, "Biodiversity and Sustainability" and "Introduction to Biotechnology," were completed. Additionally, an application was submitted for the TÜBİTAK 4008 project "Seeing Hands Meet Biotechnology," designed for individuals with special needs.

In the past term, refresher training sessions on DNA Isolation, Micropipette Usage, and Gel Electrophoresis attracted great interest from our teachers. In the new term, we are excited to welcome 23 new ABE teachers to our community through the Maya Schools Phase I Teacher Training Program.

By encouraging our teachers to share their experiences, we aim to expand classroom applications and enhance interaction through events such as Biotechnology Day. With the strong ABE Türkiye teacher community, we will continue to shape the future of biotechnology education!
