Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Teacher Training Completed

With our 15 ABE teachers, we completed our PCR training on December 10, 2023, by meeting face-to-face at the Biological Sciences Department of Middle East Technical University.

The training began with an interactive warm-up activity where teachers established relationships between concepts related to PCR using a string. It continued with conceptual discussions regarding DNA replication and PCR applications. Then we experienced, explored, and enjoyed laboratory practices related to PCR laboratory techniques within the context of the scenario titled 'Ancient DNA: Was Farming Taking Place in Our Country 8000 Years Ago?' 

Our PCR training concluded on December 17, 2023, with an online session titled 'Comparison of PCR Products with the Database and PCR Teaching' involving 12 of our teachers. The participating teachers are eager to implement PCR applications in their classrooms.
