Congratulations to Fethi Ahmet Oner on Receiving an ABE Mini-Grant!
The ABE Program Office announced that ABE Global Master Teacher Fethi Ahmet Öner has been awarded an ABE Global Mini-Grant. The grant program aims to strengthen teacher leadership, encourage the development of innovative biotechnology curricula, and expand the reach of ABE initiatives. Supported through this program, Fethi Ahmet Öner’s project focuses on improving accessibility in biotechnology education.
With the support of the mini-grant, Fethi Ahmet Öner will adapt an educational activity he previously developed during his ABE Global Master Teacher Fellowship to address misconceptions about biotechnology into an accessible learning model tailored to the needs of middle school students with visual impairments. He will also develop an implementation guide for teachers to support the dissemination of the model within the ABE community and increase access to biotechnology and STEM education. These efforts are expected to contribute to making the ABE curriculum more responsive to diverse learning needs and expanding its reach to more teachers and students.
We congratulate Fethi Ahmet Öner on this achievement and thank him for his efforts to promote inclusive and accessible biotechnology education and for his contributions to the ABE community. We hope his project will create new learning opportunities for students with diverse learning needs and inspire teachers across the ABE community.
