Prof. LAU Kwok-chi, Victor
Faculty of Education, CUHK

Prof. Lau is a biology educator and PISA science expert at CUHK with extensive experience in training in-service and pre-service biology teachers. As the supervisor of the School-Based Assessment Scheme (SBA) of biology in the Diploma of Secondary Education, he actively promotes biology lab work at secondary schools.

He has been designing and teaching teacher training courses for the program. Through the implementation of the ABE program, he demonstrates a successful model to integrate biotechnology as a key element of secondary school Biology curriculum.

Prof. LAM Hon-ming
School of Life Sciences, CUHK

Prof. Lam is a renowned scientist in plant biotechnology and is an expert in the studies of gene function. He and his team are working on a large-scale soybean genome project, enhancing the genetic make-up of soybean to help alleviating the looming problems in world food supply and security. He is also actively involved in the secondary Biology curriculum development and teacher training in Hong Kong.

His expertise in biotechnology enables the Hong Kong ABE program to be run successfully and be developed further in the future. He supervises the graduate and undergraduate students to provide support for the Hong Kong ABE program.

Ms. CHUNG Oi-lin, Irene

Ms. Irene Chung is experienced in development and implementation of the Biology curriculum in Hong Kong. She is actively taking part in the promotion of STEM education in secondary and primary schools during the recent years.

As the ABE program consultant, she provides advice on professional development programs for teachers and lab technicians, as well as to support the learning and teaching of Biotechnology in secondary schools.

 Mr. WONG Chi-kin
Mr. WONG Chi-kin

Mr Wong, an experienced science educator from Hong Kong Association for Science and Mathematics Education (HKASME), has extensive experience in promoting science education in primary and secondary schools.

With his participation, HKASME provide full support to the Hong Kong ABE program site, particularly on the outreach to and communications with secondary science teachers.
