ABE Science Bootcamp - 7th and 8th December

On December 7th and 8th, ABE is hosting a science bootcamp open to all ages above 13 years old. Whether you are a complete beginner or just curious about biotechnology, this bootcamp will introduce you to essential lab skills used in the field. The cost is R400 pp, covering all activities, and lunch on the 7th

Participants will engage in in-depth, hands-on exercises, including:

  • Mastering Micropipettes: Learn to use micropipettes and understand conversions from μL (microlitres) to pL (picolitres).
  • DNA Extraction from Fruit: Discover the basics of DNA by extracting it from everyday fruit.
  • Agarose Gel Electrophoresis: Explore how scientists separate and analyze DNA. 

No prior experience is necessary - just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm for science. If you are eager to learn about biotechnology techniques and practices, this bootcamp is for you!

Note: Price includes one non-participating parent per learner. If the parent would like to participate in the ABE Bootcamp, they would have to pay the full amount of the event. We will reach out to you via email once you have registered.
