Ananya Ramesh
Lab Technician
Ananya is responsible for making and packing everything for our kit loans. If you're loaning kit from us, she is the person you will be talking to! Ananya has a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, a Master's degree in Biological and Biomolecular Sciences, and a strong passion for teaching and education. Her role as Lab Technician combines her scientific knowledge with her love for teaching.
Anna Wedderburn
Programme Coordinator
Anna is responsible for coordinating the ABE Ireland programme: from organising workshops to forming new collaborations. She has a primary degree in Immunology and an M.Sc. in Science and Health Communication. Anna loves all things public engagement and science communication. She has been involved in many projects over the years including science-based art exhibitions, journalism, and podcasts.
Elaine Quinn
Site Director
Elaine has joint responsibility for the overall programme and resource management. She has a primary degree in applied sciences and a M.Sc. in science communication. Elaine has considerable expertise in managing science engagement programmes for a wide range of audiences. She also delivers lectures and workshops on aspects of science communication to undergraduate and graduate students in science, medicine and biotechnology.
Walter Kolch
Programme Lead
Walter is the Programme Lead of the ABE Ireland programme. He is Director of Systems Biology Ireland at University College Dublin and the Precision Oncology Ireland Consortium. He is best known for his research on cancer and precision medicine. Walter strongly believes that science is a public good that should be shared. Therefore, he has led and participated in many public outreach and engagement programs, with the Amgen Biotech Experience being a highlight.
