ABE@CU Summer 2026 PDI!

The ABE@CU team invites new and returning teachers to our fourth annual Professional Development Institute (PDI) on August 20, 2026, on the Carleton University campus. This one-day session will be dedicated to "Extension Labs" - activities suitable for Grades 9 - 12, that can be implemented as stand-alone labs, or used to supplement the Complete series of the ABE laboratories. The session will cover activities that introduce students to micropipetting, paper chromatography, and gel electrophoresis, including the Pipette Art STEAM activity, the Dog Drool Investigation and Kitty Paternity DNA fingerprinting labs, and Colony PCR. ABE@CU also continues to offer all labs in the Complete series for the upcoming school year, in addition to the activities at this year's PDI.

There is no cost associated with the training session other than parking on campus. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided to all participants. Registration closes August 1, 2025, with additional registrations confirmed on a case-by-case basis.
