Foundations - Waste Disposal

Lab Waste from Labs 1-4

  • Throw waste in regular garbage. DO NOT add to provided autoclave bags.

Lab Waste from Lab 5/5a and Colony PCR

  • Waste should be disposed of in the provided autoclave bags so that we can autoclave the waste for you. Please do not fill autoclave bags more than half-full. If a bag has a tear or hole in it, double-bag it with another autoclave bag or a regular garbage bag.

Lab Waste from Lab 6

  • Collect all liquid waste and sterilize with 10% bleach solution. Then, flush down the drain with a lot of water.
