I am a teacher who is interested in participating in ABE. What should I do to participate?
In order to be part of the ABE program you must attend one of our free teacher professional development workshops. Information on upcoming workshops and registration are posted on our “Workshops” page. To be added to our email list for program announcements, including notifications of new workshops as they are scheduled, please fill out the contact form.
Once you successfully complete one of our workshops you are eligible to sign up and borrow the equipment and all consumables you need to be able to implement the ABE curriculum in your classroom, at no cost.
To be eligible to implement the ABE labs, you must: 1) teach high school science (or other equivalent course) related to the ABE curriculum; 2) be willing to drive to Berkeley, CA to pick up and drop off materials. Please note that we do not have funding to pay teachers to attend our workshops or reimburse for travel expenses, but we are happy to provide a letter of attendance or other documentation if you have other means of reimbursement.
